Chuffed…. I have just identified my old coin…. it is a James the Second Gun Money coin from 1689…. and as most of you are know, especially here in Northern Ireland, that the Gun Money coin was used by supporters of James the Second who met his fate at the Hands of William of Orange….
It is worthless because it is in such bad condition but it still is a bit of history to be able to hold in your hands and wonder just what it was used for and who held it 326 years ago….
The coin that is in good shape is just an image I found on the web… but it is great to finally identify my coin.
