John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a liberal. He, like so many of his peers in the 1960’s, were ‘old school’ liberals who loved the country, loved the democratic system and loved capitalism.
Today’s liberal is ‘anti everything’ that John Fitzgerald Kennedy ever stood for. “I am not a liberal at all,” Kennedy once told the Saturday Evening Post. “I’m not comfortable with those people.”
Kennedy saw himself as a caring politician who would use whatever means possible to better the way of life for the people who elected him. Strong on defence and strong on economy and strong on common sense.
“Nastiest President Of All” is the title of one left wing magazine. “The Presidential Pervert” is another and “Why We Must Disown Kennedy” ….all written by left wing media outlets.
Kennedy knew that liberals were destructive and this quote is often used by liberals to try to convince people that he was ‘one of them’ “If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal”, then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.”
It doesn’t take a genius to see that he qualified liberalism in his statement to counter the left wing liberals of his day as, even then, there was a hard streak of socialism that was being kept down by American liberals.
It was considered to be the dirty underbelly of liberalism and needed to be kept in check. Not so today.
He was also a supporter of Israel…. “For Israel was not created in order to disappear – Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of freedom; and no area of the world has ever had an overabundance of democracy and freedom.” Kennedy would be truly shocked at today’s ‘liberals’ with their constant creation of division and hate filled rhetoric against everything he held dear.
His legacy, among the people of America, is strong and respected and that is why the left has kept up a steady attack on his legacy as they cannot stand to see themselves compared to Kennedy. Their hate filled division and his true liberal views are at such odds that they find it impossible to defend, so his memory must be destroyed.
It often makes me smile to see the Republicans and the right heap genuine praise Kennedy and watch the left instantly discredit his name. The sickness of today’s society is a reflection of how the left and the liberals treat those who do not ‘conform’ to their ‘new’ way of thinking.
They will destroy there own and attack the dead if it suits. My goodness, but society has come a long way. Sadly it is the wrong way.
